Since 2003, nearly three million cameras have been installed in the country's cities in order to improve security; however, the Ministry of Public Security announced that it will increase the system to the province, where 800 million people reside.According to the official Xinhua News Agency, there are currently 265,000 cameras in Beijing. Also, about 2.75 million security equipment are currently installed in public areas of China.
In addition, the Ministry said that more than 268,000 surveillance and alarm systems have been installed in various areas to help police fight crime 24 hours a day.
