United States. Linus Upson, Google's director of engineering, said the operating system the company hopes to release called Chrome OS will definitively eliminate the problem of computer viruses. In statements published by Diario TI, Upson said that "we have redesigned the underlying security architecture in such a radical way, that users will no longer have to worry about viruses, malware or security updates. The system will simply work."
However, analyst Paul Jackson of Forrester Research said he did not entirely agree with Upson's statement, saying that the operating system will be vulnerable to attacks against the browser.
