Latin America. The head of the engineering operations of the computer security company Symantec for the Caribbean, Central America and Andean regions, Nicolás Severino, stated that the work areas and data centers of Brazilian and Mexican companies represent the main focuses in terms of investment in green IT.The US company published a study that states that 78% of all companies in these two countries expect to increase their budget for green IT over the next 12 months.
On the other hand, only 29% of the companies surveyed have adopted solutions of this type. About 39% said they were developing a green IT investment plan.
Severino commented that "this shows that there is some optimism in IT departments around how much money they will get from implementing IT initiatives."
