The operation of the solution is given by the installation of an RFID tag in each record, these tags are connected to the 3M database, and a network of devices strategically located throughout the hospital allows the scanning of the tags in the system. A computer connects to each receiver and through the database the staff locates the record that is needed.
The Patient Record Tracking Solution has already been implemented at Walsall General Hospital in Walsall, England.
