Spain. In the municipality of Vitoria, the municipal transport company, Tuvisa, has installed 16 surveillance cameras in eight coaches to record everything that happens inside these cars.
The images obtained from the cameras that were placed on the articulated city buses can only be used if something exceptional happens, otherwise they are deleted every five days; users were also informed of the presence of such cameras.
The 16 cameras were located at two strategic points of the vehicles, one records the driver's area, including his back and sides, and the other focuses on passengers. For the acquisition of the cameras Tuvisa invested 56,600 euros.
Similarly, the City Council expects that urbanites have the 70 new collection machines. The devices will be connected to a new GPS system to be able to locate each bus via satellite.
