Latin America. Axis Communications appointed Marcelo Ponte as distribution manager for South America. The executive, who in recent years held the marketing management of Axis, in a strategic business-oriented way, will now use his experience to also work with the brand's distributors.
With the new distribution and marketing function in this region, Ponte will aim to drive the business towards a close relationship between the channels, in order to expand its presence in the regional market. Currently, Axis Communications has a network of more than 4,500 resales in South America.
The actions have been planned, on the one hand, to expand the intensity of the work with the distributors of the brand and on the other, to grow in the level of satisfaction of the integrators. Another objective will be to ensure that Axis offers its distributors all the support and support to meet its growth goals and expansion plans in the regions.
"Our priority will be to increase distribution performance through network development. For Axis, distributors represent an extension of the manufacturer, with a prominent role for the support and scalability of Axis product reseller channels," said the executive. "We want distributors to be able to grow alongside the company and take advantage of the opportunities that the sector allows them to explore."
Training is one of the tools available for this growth. Analyses carried out show that participation in Axis Academy courses ensures projects with volumes three times larger than channels that never took the training.
Another key point in Marcelo Ponte's work will be the creation of solutions tailored to the market. "With our diverse portfolio, the largest in the IP sector, we will empower the channel to suggest solutions tailored to each segment," he said.
One of the bets is the AXIS F34 kit, a complete package of low-cost hardware and software, which is composed of 20 items, including four HDTV-quality cameras, software for image display, memory cards for recording storage, as well as cables and accessories, is a system with a three-year warranty. "Our distributors already have the kit in stock to serve as network video input equipment," he said.
Graduated in business administration from the Universidad Cândido Mendes, Marcelo Ponte has an MBA in Strategic Marketing from the ESPM (Escuela Superior de Propaganda y Marketing). Prior to joining Axis, he served as coordinator and marketing analyst for Bayer and Arysta lifeSciente.
