Colombia. With the Cívica smart card, which is used to enter the Medellín metro, users can now pay for public transport fares in two neighborhoods of the city.Each of the buses of the companies that joined the use of this payment and identification system, has a reader that admits the entry of the passenger according to the load he has on his card. In the Campo Valdés neighborhood there are approximately 16 thousand users of public transport who joined this payment method.
In San Javier, another sector of Medellín, there are already seven buses of the integrated transport system of the metro that have the readers of the smart cards.
The administration of the Medellín Metro reported that another 110 integrated routes that exist in the Metropolitan Area are advancing the implementation of the readers.
