Brazil. The largest public bank in Latin America, Caixa Economica Federal, will install four thousand high-resolution color cameras from Samsung Electronics, with DNR technology and day/night function to protect its branches and customers throughout Brazil. According to Joseph Restivo, GVI's Chief Operating Officer, the order for four thousand cameras reflects the company's success in market penetration and in the banking and financial segment, adding that "the combination of our reputation established for quality service, and local support in the country with products perfectly suited to the needs of large networks of banks with branches, is recognized by a growing number of orders from new and existing customers." The choice of Samsung's cameras was based, according to GVI's senior vice president of international sales and operations, Fernando Tomasiello, "not only on their ability to respond to and exceed detailed specifications for such a demanding application, but also on the excellent reputation for reliability and performance that Samsung's cameras have earned. Electronics in extensive previous projects for la Caixa and the entire banking sector".
The bank has a customer base of more than 37.5 million and opened 200 new branches in 2005 alone.
