Brazil. The financial institution Bradesco negotiates the purchase of six thousand ATMs that will identify the customer through a system of capillary sensors. The user will hardly need to stretch out his hand and leave it in the air on the screen of the same sesor, he identifies the map of the veins and compares it with the file data of the bank. The system, developed by the Japanese firm Fujitsu, was implemented at the Tokyo-Mitsubishi bank since 2005, thus having 10,000 ATMs that use this technology.
In Latin America, Bradesco will be the first bank to have this type of ATM and responsible for the largest biometrics project implemented by a private company in Brazil. For this, it will make an investment of more than 80 million dollars.
The new equipment will replace the bank's 26,133 ATMs in Brazil.
