Mexico. At the Regiomontana University of Monterrey, which has approximately 6,000 students, an access control system was installed with HID Global's iCLASS® technology of contactless readers and smart cards, which combines physical access control, attendance control, punctuality of professors and employees, in addition to the registration of book loans in the library, among others. iCLASS cards also enable data encryption, mutual authentication and the possibility of storing the fingerprint on them.
The Corporate 1000 Program offers a 35-bit card format created exclusively for the institution, incorporates more than 100 iCLASS R10 and RW400 smart card readers, as well as 2K-bit and 16K-bit iCLASS contactless smart cards. HID's mutual authentication technology requires cards and readers to identify each other before sending the signal to the control panel, which strengthens security.
