Brazil, the fifth largest country in the world, is known for its vitality and passion. As a member of the BRICS group, it has become one of the most important fastest growing economies.
Brazil is hosting more and more international events, not to mention that it is one of the dream destinations for tourists from all over the world. However, all the signs that show its strength and permanent development also reveal a reality: rapid urbanization and expansion brings with it security problems, with which the authorities have before them the task of finding a way to solve these difficulties.
In fact, the Brazilian government began implementing a national project to promote safety in cities several years ago. Dahua was one of the brands used in the implementation of security, in more than 100 cities, located along the entire coast, from the south region to the north, from the state of Santa Catarina to Roraima, including cities such as Florianópolis, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, among others.
Tens of thousands of Dahua devices have been installed throughout the project. In what follows we present an example of an urban security project in Florianópolis.
Florianópolis, the capital of Santa Catarina, is known for its beautiful beach scenery and high living standards. Its main economic sectors are information technology, tourism and services. Although the city is projected as one of the urban centers with the best economic well-being in Brazil, there is also a less developed area in it, as in any other city in the world.
Naturally, it is necessary that both the products and the implementation are different in each case, and that they attend to the real conditions of the areas having as axis the two "M": minimize crimes and maximize the safety of citizens.
For the more prosperous area of the city, cameras were installed mainly at intersections, public entrances, school gates and in other places with high traffic flow. However, in this area it is necessary to pay greater attention to privacy, for which the privacy mask function of the Dahua DVR fits perfectly, allowing a maximum of four masking zones of each channel to be established.
As for less organized areas, such as the old city, more attention is paid to the surveillance of key sectors, according to data provided by the police. Therefore, a combination of domes and fixed cameras is used to better capture and follow a given target.
Moreover, the data is processed in the Dahua DVR, and the volume is transmitted to the top-level platform to carry out a general management of the information. The entire system uses Dahua's comprehensive central management software (CMS) and some custom functions are integrated into it to make it more timely in response.
In addition, a number of tailor-made adjustments were offered in this project. Dahua redesigned the user interface and added USB and wireless WIFI modules. In addition, it incorporated a network assistant into the device to help technicians diagnose problems more effectively.
As for the cameras, the image parameters and switching time (day / night) were also adjusted. On the other hand, Dahua prepared countless special materials for this project, among others, special printing, colored packaging, labels, specifications and CDs. All the work was carefully reviewed and was received very positively by the clients.
