Latin America. Hanwha Techwin presented its new High Definition Wisenet X PTZ Plus cameras, which among its different novelties include object tracking based on Artificial Intelligence (AI), precise PTZ control, improved precision in pre-sets, adaptive infrared lighting and high-end cybersecurity.
"Setting a new standard is a phrase that is often used when launching products, but I think it can really be applied to these new cameras," said Mauricio Meza, Hanwha Techwin's Senior Product Manager for Latin America.
"Our highly talented design, development and manufacturing teams have made excellent use of their expertise and, in doing so, raised the bar in terms of offering users the ability to closely monitor and track any suspicious activity or incidents," he added.
The new Wisenet X PTZ Plus cameras of 2MP, 6MP and 4K are capable of capturing images that can be used as expert evidence up to a distance of 200 meters, regardless of the lighting conditions. This is possible thanks to adaptive IR technology that adjusts the angle of the camera's IR LEDs to match the zoom level.
They are designed for perimeter protection applications and large open areas such as airports, car parks, industrial estates, sports fields and urban centres.
Chipset Wisenet7
At the core of the new Wisenet X PTZ Plus cameras is Wisenet7, Hanwha Techwin's innovative proprietary chipset that offers an impressive list of technologies that help clearly enhance camera cybersecurity credentials.
These Wisenet cameras also benefit from Hanwha Techwin's proprietary certificate issuance system that includes exclusive certificates on Wisenet products during the development phase and manufacturing process.
Automatic tracking
An automatic tracking function with AI allows control room operators to efficiently monitor the movement of objects, freeing them from this task and thus being able to control other cameras.
With a right mouse click, operators can program a camera to automatically lock and track a specific object. This is achieved thanks to video analytics with Deep Learning that detect and classify people and vehicles. Video analytics is backed by AI algorithms unique to Hanwha Techwin.
Pre-set Accuracy
During their life cycle, it is expected that most PTZ cameras perform continuous horizontal and vertical movements, not being strange that positioning errors can occur. Wisenet PTZ Plus cameras, which have a pre-set accuracy of ± 0.1° can detect if they are not precisely directed to the specified field of view and will move in one second to the correct position.
Other important features
• Integrated wipers remove rain, sleet or snow itself and then activate a heater on the lens to dry out the wastewater.
• An extended tilt range of up to 110⁰ ensures that objects placed above the cameras can be seen.
• Improvements to the manual control of the PTZ function make it much easier for operators to zoom in manually to see close details of targets and track their movement.
• A save focus function, which can be applied to 32 predefined zones, ensures that regardless of light conditions, a camera can focus quickly when moving to a new position.
Simplicity of installation
Compact and 65% lighter than most PTZ domes, Wisenet X PTZ Plus cameras can be installed easily and quickly. Technicians only have to "match 3 points and rotate", during the first phase of installation. This allows them to conveniently tighten the screws without having to hold the camera.
Unlike conventional PTZ cameras that require up to five separate cables, Wisenet X PTZ Plus cameras only need one RJ45 cable to operate and this is installed with a flexible bushing to ensure the camera is waterproof.
