Mexico. The PROSOFT program, Program for the Development of the Software Industry of Mexico, is installing a wireless broadband network that will allow the development and optimization of communications in Veracruz, a port city of more than one million inhabitants, as well as Boca del Río, both located on the Gulf of Mexico, on the east coast of the country.

Once the implementation is complete, the network will allow to offer free access to broadband of 64 kbps in a completely wireless way and other services such as video surveillance to all citizens.
The network will cover much of the two cities and will be completed this year. The initiative was promoted by the governor of the state of Veracruz, Mr. Fidel Herrera Beltrán, who promoted an agreement between Intra Networks, the State Government and the Federal Government.
