International. PandaLabs, Panda Security's malware detection and analysis lab, has discovered a new vulnerability in the Microsoft Access database application. This is a security issue similar to the one discovered a few months ago, and which was named CVE-2007-6026. The one now discovered affects the same msjet40.dll library, although at a different point.
The problem is compounded by the fact that cybercriminals are already actively employing this security issue to silently install their creations on computers. Specifically, PandaLabs has detected that it is being used to distribute the dangerous Keylogger Trojan.DB, designed to steal sensitive user data by capturing keystrokes.
To avoid falling victim to this security problem, PandaLabs recommends not opening suspicious files that can be received or downloaded from the Internet, as well as keeping its security solutions permanently updated, since so far there is no patch available to solve the aforementioned vulnerability.
