We have been informed about the arrival of phishing emails that have as an argument a (false) judicial intimation for fraudulent purchases in a well-known chain of stores in Brazil (American stores). It is a deception that appeals to fear as a social engineering technique.

Brazil. IMS Research presented the results of the study "The Latin American CCTV Equipment Market", which concludes that Brazilian regional suppliers have had greater growth in their country compared to global brands.
The study showed that the Brazilian manufacturers and distributions market received more than US$100 million in 2010, both from cameras and software, largely due to the high import costs of foreign equipment that were not profitable for medium and small projects.
In several cases, some of the local brands have expanded to other Latin American countries and although strong competition and the rapid evolution of technology forces constant investments to keep pace, the success in the facilities produced a growth that puts Brazil on the international stage thanks to the advancement and innovation of its technology.
Mexico. Scientists from the Center for Research and Advanced Studies of the National Polytechnic Institute -Cinvestav- in Tamaulipas developed software that would allow controlling the security systems of a house, the turning off of lights and even the closing of the gas supply keys from the cell phone, iPod or computer.
Gregorio Toscano Pulido, researcher at Cinvestav, explains that the program fulfills simple tasks for a person, but complex for a technological system, in addition to having the flexibility and reliability to integrate and configure easily with automation systems of different companies, being able to access from anywhere and with the advantage of being able to observe the environment and interiors through CCTV systems, as well as monitoring the status of alarm and security systems.
The program was created at the request of a company that is dedicated to the construction of automated houses and is currently in a state of evaluation to verify its compatibility and identify the minimum hardware requirements for its correct operation and subsequently begin with its distribution.
