Physical security continues to grow and advance in a world full of technological innovations that complement it and help protect both property, users and property as well as those who specialize in providing this valuable service. This will be one of the thematic axes that will be seen on June 26 and 27 at the ALAS Summit 2019 in Miami.
The panel: "Safe cities, how to build them?", is a sample of how public policies are articulated from local governments on the use of technology for law enforcement and private security that allow citizens to be kept in safe environments. One of the panelists will be Manuel Alonso García, secretary of security of the state of Puebla, creator of the Center for Studies and Research in Public Security and Criminal Policy, he will be accompanied by General Jean A. Romero, Superintendent of Surveillance and Private Security of the Dominican Republic, and Major Andrés Felipe Campos, Commander in Cyber Gaula of the National Police of Colombia; the moderator of this panel will be Mario Arroyo, Specialist in change management and design of security policies, violence prevention and crime reduction.
Another panel that draws attention on the second day of the academic program is "The impact of technology on private security", as the world evolves in a vertiginous way and technology takes more and more prominence in everyday life. This panel will discuss how private security should adapt to these changes and what challenges it faces.
Those who will debate in this space are Lucile Houllemont, president of Adesinc, Dominican Association of Security Companies, president and founder of A24, Alarma 24 and president of Dominican Watchman National; Miguel Ángel Díaz, president of Confevip, Confederation of Private Surveillance of Colombia; Joel Juárez Blanco, president amesp, Mexican Association of private security companies, and as moderator will have the support of Marcos Gómez, CTO for Latin America of Securitas.
Finally, in an outstanding way, the two success stories winners of the ALAS Award 2019 will be presented, projects that stood out for their impact on the places that were intervened by them and that for this reason deserve to be known by the entire Industry of the region.
The winning project of the first place in the public project category is Mi teleférico de La Paz, Bolivia which will be presented by Alberto Pérez, sales director of Scati.
The winning project of the first place in the Private Project category is Thermal Camera Monitoring Center by the company TOTEM of Guayaquil, Ecuador and will be presented by Luis Fernando Uribe, president of Totem.
