International. HID Global announced the availability of its new authentication service (HID Authentication Service), which is part of its cloud platform.
These services facilitate the management and use of identifications through a secure cloud delivery model. This multi-tenant service enables large-scale, hassle-free user registration as well as easy authentication of identity and access management (IAM) clients across industries.
Regulations such as the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) force organizations to strive harder to provide the security, convenience and regulatory compliance that user access requires.
The solution is also compliant with standards such as PSD2 (Revised Payment Services Directive), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act); While these regulations apply exclusively to the United States, it is not surprising that similar initiatives emerge in Latin America, where some governments are already taking steps to ensure greater protection of citizens' data.
"HID is one of the few IAM solution providers that can offer everything from high-security, hands-on authentication to multidimensional basic enterprise authentication. With this wide range of solutions, we are convinced that organizations in regulated markets, in particular, will reap the most significant benefits from HID Authentication Service," concluded Brad Jarvis, Vice President and Executive Director of HID Global's Identity management and Access Solutions (IAM Solutions) division.
In financial services, for example, access to high-value transactions can be secured by integrating API requests to the HID authentication service from third-party software, such as the Temenos T24 Core Banking platform. In the healthcare sector, a partner can implement patient access to healthcare portals to support HIPAA compliance measures.
To achieve this, HID will make APIs available to developers, partners, and managed security service providers (MSSPs) to deliver integrated, scalable authentication services. As a trusted partner, HID will provide toolkits to system integrators and computer programmers to support implementation.
