International. Wisenet's automatic incident detection (AID) solution, which has been developed as a result of the combination of experiences between Hanwha Techwin and analytics specialist Sprinx Technologies, has been selected for the Intertraffic Amsterdam Innovation Award.
Wisenet AID is one of three solutions selected for the prestigious Traffic Management category, which has been announced by an international jury of transport experts. The winner will be announced at the opening ceremony of the international fair Intertraffic Amsterdam, which will take place from 20 to 23 March 2018 at the RAI in Amsterdam.
"We are proud that, together with Hanwha Techwin, we have developed a solution that has been recognized as innovative at the most important event of the traffic industry in the world. This confirms the wisdom of the combination of our technologies and mutual experiences," said Paola Clerici, Managing Director and Director of Marketing and Sales at Sprinx Technologies s.r.l. "We have full confidence in our partnership with Hanwha Techwin, so we have decided to work only with their video surveillance products, and we make every effort to promote our joint solution in the traffic management market."
The Wisenet AID solution takes full advantage of the high processing power of the chipset integrated in the Wisenet X cameras. This makes it possible to simultaneously execute all the functions of the application in the camera offering an important advantage over other competing cameras, which are only capable of executing a limited number of functions at the same time. Wisenet X cameras are also equipped with a 1/2" Full HD image sensor that gives Hanwha Techwin's technology partners, such as Sprinx Technologies, the freedom to develop practical and innovative functionalities that offer real benefits to end users.
In addition, the three-dimensional object recognition technology, unique to Wisenet X cameras, significantly avoids the risk of false alarms compared to the conventional two-dimensional technology used in other cameras.
Wisenet AID keeps traffic flowing
Wisenet Automatic Incident Detection (AID) is an easy-to-install and highly accurate automatic incident detection solution, ideal for local authorities with tight budgets.
Hanwha Techwin engineers have worked closely with the Sprinx Technologies team to ensure that the expectations of traffic managers, who face the tough challenge of controlling an increasing number of vehicles and the problems that come with it in urban centres, roads and motorways, are exceeded.
Traffic AID allows operators to know the status of traffic immediately in case traffic jams occur or road holds form. It also detects damaged or stopped vehicles incorrectly, as well as if a driver is driving in a prohibited direction, a pedestrian is in danger or if there is smoke in a tunnel. It even detects if the load of a truck has fallen.
Traffic AID uses intelligent image processing to quickly warn operators of specific traffic incidents while at the same time recording statistical data such as vehicle classification, counting and flow. Traffic AID's intuitive Web user interface allows operators to define detection zones and parameters, and analyze statistical data very easily using graphs and charts. An event journal provides a log of all events and screenshots of individual incidents.
Modules
For those responsible for urban surveillance who do not need the full Traffic AID package, there are a few economical module options available that will help them keep traffic flowing, both vehicle and pedestrian. These include: Pedestrian and Stop Detection (for Pedestrian and Stopped Vehicle Detection), Traffic Flow (for Traffic Flow Control) and Traffic Data (for statistics), while the server-based Traffic Hub app captures data from many networked Wisenet cameras and, through its interface, offers a quick view of all traffic incidents.
