International. Oberthur Technologies (OT), a leading global provider of security software products, services and integrated solutions, announced its international collaboration with Samsung and Ercom, a leading mobile communications security company, to jointly develop and launch SIM-activated Cryptosmart.
OT and ERCOM partnered to introduce SIM-activated Cryptosmart by relying on a SIM card with advanced technology to encrypt mobile communications on Samsung mobile devices. This partnership between OT, Samsung and ERCOM makes SIM-activated Cryptosmart easy to deploy by operators to protect mobile devices as well as data, voice and SMS communications.
The solution will bring security and usability for customers and end users:
- Security through full encryption of voice, data and SMS communications, as well as local data protection and the ability to remotely shut down the device.
- Usability through the unaltered user experience of Samsung smartphones and tablets for consumption, and the ability for customers to manage all system features remotely.
Cryptosmart is a reliable solution adopted by government authorities and large international organizations with a certified level of security. It is the only French certified solution restricted from NATO and the EU.
Thanks to its high level of security and usability, this solution represents a solution for administrations, governments, executives of large companies and employee populations that exchange sensitive information exposed to cyber threats.
The SIM-activated Cryptosmart implementation process is very convenient, supported by a specific SIM card, a Samsung device with the latest release of KNOX, and the mobile application and back-end solution of Ercom Cryptosmart. The solution will be easy to install and use on a wide range of Samsung devices, simply by going to stores through Mobile Network Operators (MNOs), thanks to the dedicated SIM.
