Happy 2015 and excellent start to the year

Dear readers, the rest season for many is over and 2015 is presented as another opportunity to start new projects, meet new goals, acquire new knowledge and meet new partners.

Well, in WINGS we can help you with all these purposes. We have been planning the activities of the new year thinking about the new we can offer and we have good news in different fields:

New agreements: this year we have good news for our partners and allies to whom we bring benefits and alliances with new events with which we have never had a commercial relationship before. These are the Global Security Asia 2015 and the Latin America & Caribbean Oil & Gas Security Forum 2015.

These two events represent part of what ALAS wants to project: globalization and vertical sectors. That is why we hope that our partners will join us taking advantage of the benefits we are granting for participation in these events.

New activities: our Technological Meetings will add new markets during this year and we will carry out a total of 10 Meetings, this means 3 new countries in addition to those we carried out last year.

New alliances: Starting this year, we materialized an alliance that had been working for some time and is with the Nueva Granada Military University. As part of it we will offer in electronic security module within the Diploma Smart and Sustainable Buildings that the University is launching with the support of ALAS. This also projects us within a sector that is gaining more and more strength and in which ALAS wants to help the industry and its partners to be protagonists.

We also highlight in this section and within this sector  the support we are giving to our strategic ally CABA (Continental Automated Buildings Association) with the support of its Forum of Smart Buildings and Digital Homes. In this way we are helping the industry to enter new areas that can bring new knowledge, new technologies and new businesses.

Message from management

We bid farewell with gratitude to 2014

Dear Partners,

Since 1997, the Latin American Security Association (ALAS) has worked tirelessly throughout the region promoting safety, education, knowledge, equality, respect for standards, personal and business development and social responsibility.

In 2015 we will celebrate 17 years of work and we want to thank everyone for their participation and support, as well as share with you our activities and progress in the year that ends.

Technological meetings

We held 7 Meetings, in 7 countries of the region, with a total of 387 attendees and 15 sponsoring companies. Offering 21 academic conferences and 42 on solutions and products.

ALAS Award

For the first time in Latin America, an award was created for the best security projects in the region in order to highlight the quality of security facilities in the region. In its first version, 12 companies from 5 countries participated.

Webinars

We launched this own service in which we had the participation of 1,617 people, 6,115 registered and 7 corporate partners participated with content and panelists in the 11 webinars held in the year. Due to their success we increased the platform from 100 attendees to 500.

Database

It was a great year for the growth and updating of our contact base. At the end of 2013 we had 19,820 contacts and during this year we updated 5,626 and grew 4,625 to end the year with 24,445 records in our database for the e-mailing platform, the main channel of communication with our contacts.

Agreements and alliances

We carry out new alliances and inter-institutional agreements to strengthen not only the internationalization of the Association but the growth in vertical sectors and thus offer more and better business to our partners. Among the new agreements we highlight the alliance with Oil & Gas Latin American Security Forum, NFPA Journal Latin America, the cooperation agreement with CASEL (Argentine Chamber of Electronic Security) and with the Nueva Granada Military University, with which we will be carrying out the Diploma in Intelligent Buildings next year.

And we continue to work to offer more exclusive benefits for members from the period 2015-2016.

Given this scenario, it was expected that all the costs of our activities would increase, as well as those of the staff in charge of carrying them out. Our membership values have remained the same since the end of 2012, so after 2 years we must apply a small increase in some membership fees.

Membership values for 2015:

Regular members: USD$ 280.

Regional distributors and manufacturers: USD$ 660.

Corporate partners: USD$ 6,000.

We ask our regular members to continue to accompany us with the new membership value starting in 2015.

Our regional distribution partners due to their business interests, regional participation and commercial objectives have been reclassified and united in the same category as manufacturers as they both use the same tools that ALAS puts at your disposal to help you in your business. But we don't want this to be just a higher cost for you, so we've added a new benefit to this category: 2 scholarships for courses whose minimum cost is $580.

Thus, these partners will have more benefits at a much lower cost than before. Scholarships may be taken by personnel of the companies or to the persons designated by them. We believe that this will be an additional promotional tool because they will be able to give them to their distributors, integrators or end customers in any of the themes and cities where ALAS teaches a course.

We especially thank our corporate partners for their participation and support as well as the time spent on committees and boards of directors, both those who have retired this year and all the new ones who joined.
