Increasing organized crime activity and frequent security incidents call for a comprehensive protection strategy, with a particular focus on strengthening perimeters as the first lines of defense.
The political and security analysis provided by Raymundo Riva Palacio in his article "The Defeat of the President", published on June 2, 2023, is crucial to understanding this context. It criticizes the way President Andrés Manuel López Obrador has politicized national security and how this has contributed to a deterioration in public security. The author points out that, during López Obrador's term, intentional homicides exceeded the numbers recorded under the governments of Felipe Calderón and Enrique Peña Nieto, although López Obrador attributes this to a "bad legacy" from his predecessors.
