USA. Global video surveillance solutions maker Optelecom-NKF reported revenue of $10.5 million for the first quarter of this year, up 19% from the same quarter a year earlier. Gross profit increased $6.5 million, up 31 percent, and operating expenses were $5.9 million for the period, up $9 million over the first quarter of 2007. This is the third consecutive quarter that the company has recorded double-digit growth, said President and CEO Edmund Ludwig. "Our markets are witnessing a major technological transition towards network-based surveillance solutions. The jump in sales for a quarter that is usually the slowest of the season demonstrates the greater momentum of our business."
