Spain. Companies dedicated to private security services invoiced seven percent more last year than in 2006, about 3,350 million euros, according to data from the International Security Exhibition, Sicur, which was held at the end of March at Ifema. The hiring of private security services, as well as purchases of detection and alarm systems increased last year. Companies that are engaged in industrial activities, financial institutions and shops, are the most important customers for this industry, although residential security continues to represent an important turnover for the sector. Some 750 companies gathered at SICUR, the largest Spanish fair for comprehensive security and one of the main references in the sector in Europe.
