International. Hanwha Vision commemorated the production milestone at its plant in Que Vo Industrial Park in Vietnam's Bac Ninh province.
The facility opened in 2017 as part of a strategic expansion of the company's global manufacturing bases. The company reached a cumulative production of 10 million units at its factory in Vietnam, five years after starting operations there.
The 10 millionth product manufactured at the facility was a Hanwha Vision Solid EDGE camera, the first camera based on a true solid-state drive (SSD), which also runs the WAVE VMS at the edge, providing a high-quality solution.
"The manufacturing prowess is due to our precision, efficiency and innovation. In recent years, many manufacturers have struggled with the supply chain, but these facilities allow us to continue to meet the needs of our customers around the world. This strong supply chain has also enabled us to increase our innovation capabilities and launch more industry-leading products," said Pread Um (Suk Bong), Chief Product and Marketing Officer, Hanwha Vision Europe.
During the pandemic, global supply chains were disrupted. However, Hanwha Vision was able to produce 50% more products than the previous year thanks to its Vietnamese subsidiary's global manufacturing and supply chain management system, which encompasses ordering, manufacturing, production and logistics. Today, approximately 500 product models, including cameras, storage devices, and lenses, are manufactured at the plant.
The 60,000-square-meter facility is built around good environmental practices and is powered by energy generated by solar panels installed on the roof of the building. In addition, the entire manufacturing environment is managed in an integrated manner for the sake of efficiency.
