International. Eagle Eye Networks and TechBinder, a technology company specializing in improving human-machine interaction, partnered to enable maritime operators to improve their offshore business operations by deploying cloud video surveillance on ships.
The partnership is a technology integration of the Eagle Eye Cloud Video Management System (VMS) platform with TechBinder's Smart Vessel Optimizer (SVO) platform. Maritime operators use SVO's performance dashboards and analytics tools to gain a detailed view of their vessels' performance. Eagle Eye Cloud VMS delivers live video and asset performance data, allowing marine operators to remotely view vessel management and receive real-time reports and notifications.
To watch the video remotely, satellites and 4G are used. The video is also kept for an extended period on ships for officials who need to review the video while on board.
"The offshore business has long struggled to gain insight into vessel performance and potential problems when the fleet is at sea," said Bram van den Boom, founding partner of TechBinder. "Techbinder's Smart Vessel Optimizer collects data and information, but the platform lacked a real, real-time view of the vessel. Thanks to Eagle Eye's open API (Application Programming Interface), we can add innovative cloud video surveillance to our platform, which substantially expands the service we offer."
According to Rishi Lodhia, Managing Director of Eagle Eye Networks EMEA, this partnership highlights the advantages of cloud video surveillance over on-premises systems.
"There is virtually no industry for which the Eagle Eye Cloud VMS platform is not able to improve video surveillance and business or operational intelligence," says Lodhia. "This app shows how video is used not only for security purposes, but also to give color and additional insight to data collected from the vessel and transferred to Techbinder's SVO platform. With Eagle Eye's open API, the possibilities are endless."
