The new AXIS P3255-LVE dome camera has a double chip that allows an outstanding object classification capability, with the use of analytics based on artificial intelligence (AI) with deep learning or Deep Learning. This versatile fixed dome camera features an innovative dual chipset that is the basis for sorting nuanced and highly grained objects.
The dual chip, which combines Axis' patented ARTPEC-7 chip with a Deep Learning Processing Unit (DLPU), is the secret behind the camera's high AI-based object sorting capability. Advanced hardware offers a unique opportunity to leverage tailor-made, AI-based third-party applications.
The dual chipset also allows the pre-installed AXIS Object Analytics to detect and classify people or vehicles, as well as distinguish between different types of vehicles such as cars, buses, trucks, bicycles and motorcycles.
This duality offers the possibility of running analytics in the chamber (locally), which opens the door to a faster and more scalable system. Other advantages are real-time processing and reduced costs and complexity. Storage and bandwidth needs as well as privacy-related concerns are also reduced because only the relevant video is transferred over the network.
