With the advancement of artificial intelligence, computer vision and facial recognition, it has been possible, through the use of video cameras and CCTV systems, to obtain large amounts of video data that bring valuable information from the offline world to the online world.
The algorithms of intelligent video analysis systems allow to monitor, in real time, public behavior, count, detect and recognize people, identify user routes, establish traffic patterns, record dwell times, in addition to tracking looks, analyzing facial expressions and providing relevant demographic information of users such as age and sex.
Artificial intelligence has definitely revolutionized the market, providing reports and bringing the experience from the physical to the digital world, visualizing the real world and bringing information to the virtual and, above all, anticipating problems, streamlining decision making and promoting immediate change and new route strategies.
According to Global Market Insights, by 2024, retail investments in Artificial Intelligence will exceed $8 billion. And it's not for nothing. Intelligent video monitoring algorithms increase the knowledge of companies and enable the analysis and proper use of data to solve problems, support new ideas and support the creation of new products or services. It allows you to search for much more accurate data than the usual statistical analysis.
A global case that exemplifies what we are talking about is that of Euroshop, the world's largest trade fair for the retail industry. In 2020, the fair had 2,300 exhibitors from 57 countries, 94,000 visitors from 142 countries, 123,800 m² of net exhibition space and 16 showrooms.
In a project that featured the partnership between SAFR ai and facial recognition software from RealNetworks, Intel, Axis, and SalesForce, it was possible to introduce retailers to how anonymized video analytics and artificial intelligence can collect offline retail data to generate insights that enable quick decisions about marketing and sales tactics and strategies. Through an integration carried out between the partners, it was possible to consolidate demographic information of the participating public, their behavioral characteristics, most visited areas, time of stay, in addition to counting in almost real time the number of visitors.
This Euroshop project made it clear that the possibilities are endless and do not end here. The scenario is increasingly challenging, the one that comes out ahead always tends to be more relevant, and artificial intelligence is there to make sense of this infinity of video data that can transform images into expressive perceptions for organizations. And for SAFR, building strong, winning partnerships like this is paramount. It is our partners who multiply the power of our technology and take it directly to the end customer, helping us achieve our main goal: to build a smarter and safer world.
