Hikvision announces updates to its generation of ColorVu cameras

Hikvision ColorVuLatin America. Hikvision unveiled its new ColorVu cameras that have as their main novelty the inclusion of 4K technology and full-color varifocal options.

Hikvision's ColorVu technology solves this common challenge faced by many security camera users, by allowing cameras to produce colorful videos even in extremely dark environments.

"Since 2018, when we launched the first generation, ColorVu cameras have been one of our best-selling products. The demand for cameras for low-light environments continues to increase in the security industry and we are pleased to see that our new enhanced ColorVu cameras can deliver an even more vivid imaging experience to our customers," said Frank Zhang, President of Hikvision's International Products and Solutions Center.

ColorVu options enriched with 4K and varifocal cameras
The new camera offering offers rich options in its Turbo HD series (DF8T series / DF3T series / DF0T series) and network products. The enriched ColorVu series effectively responds to a variety of customer needs, from high-performance products to affordable options and smart solutions.

Hikvision has just added to its product range the ColorVu 4K cameras, which offer color images at ultra high definition levels, day and night. With better image quality and more detail, ColorVu 4K cameras can be applied in a wider range of scenarios, such as stadiums, airports, ports and parking lots, where clear, high-resolution images are needed.

In addition, Hikvision has also added varifocal cameras (the DF8T-Z series) to the ColorVu 24/7 models to create 24/7 color images at all focal lengths. With motorized lenses from 2.8 to 12mm, ColorVu varifocal cameras allow users to zoom in on colorful images at night.

Enhanced color images with AA manufacturing technology
The lenses of the ColorVu cameras have maintained the F1.0 super aperture design, which allows four times more light to enter than conventional cameras (with F2.0). Achieving focus on high-definition cameras with large F1.0 apertures is an extremely technical challenge for the industry, as it requires very strict and precise manufacturing. Hikvision has applied its advanced Active Alignment (AA) technology in the design of its ColorVu cameras to bring adjustment accuracy to 4 pixels, much less than 1/30th the diameter of a hair.

Thanks to optimized sensors, the nightly color images captured by the new ColorVu cameras are reproduced with much more brightness than those taken by conventional cameras. A new 3D Dynamic Noise Reduction (DNR) algorithm helps cameras record additional remote details clearly, thus delivering sharper images. In addition, they are equipped with a soft and warm supplementary light to ensure color imaging, even in environments without lighting.

Quick object search with AcuSense technology
The newly launched ColorVu cameras can incorporate the brand's cutting-edge AcuSense technology to help users focus only on events that are important for security. Powered by deep learning algorithms, ColorVu cameras can distinguish people and vehicles from other moving objects such as rain, leaves and animals. Alarms are only triggered when the preset intrusion type occurs. This solution makes it possible to classify video clips by people and vehicles, which significantly improves search efficiency.
