The Net2 access control system receives its latest software update. The new Checkpoint Control feature supports COVID-safe sites, helping users protect employees and visitors by monitoring and approving people when they enter buildings.
Checkpoint Control is a continuation of Occupancy Management and integration with thermal scanning hardware. Both were released for Net2 in July 2020. These features work simply and seamlessly to reduce the risk of COVID-19 spreading around populated buildings.
The system allows a site to assign temporary access levels to one or more users who will remain in place until they have been manually validated or identified through a specific door. This allows administrators to ensure that all staff and visitors pass through a designated checkpoint with a frequency that can be configured to suit business requirements.
It also includes a new feature to further enhance the Net2 Occupancy Management feature, with new virtual traffic lights on the screens to indicate occupancy levels without the need for additional hardware. This will further support social distancing by informing the end user if the current occupation of the area they are about to enter is safe for them to do, working together with Checkpoint Control to reduce bottlenecks and overcrowding.
