International. Arkaden Food Hall, a popular food place located in Odense (Denmark) had the requirement to keep the number of guests within a specific limit per square meter: 308 people in their case.
Being responsible for its customers and staff, Food Hall implemented Dahua Technology's flow control and people counting solution, to ensure a smooth and safe reopening after the pandemic.
Challenges
With 14 food stalls and 2 bars, the Food Hall has two entrances. People counting from these two entrances should be combined and displayed on screens to determine if there is more room for customers to enter or if they will have to wait temporarily at the door.
Solution
The solution is to:
2 inputs with 5 IPC Series (HDW5442E-ZE)
2 DPB18-AI
2 DHL32-F600
1 DSS Pro-64 channel license + BI module
The people counting camera with Dahua AI technology can automatically and accurately calculate the number of people entering the restaurant in real time, avoiding congestion and helping to mitigate the spread of the pandemic.
The DSS PRO platform with people counting and flow control, along with monitors and DPB18A helps send different videos/images and editable content for guests to see. When the number of guests exceeds the set value, the platform and monitors will notify and display "the limit has been reached" on the digital signage at the entrance of the Food Hall, reminding incoming customers to wait at the door. In addition, the people counting cameras are simple and easy to install, which allowed the installer to complete the entire project in just 1 day.
"The People Counting solution has provided us with statistics and data on our customers' behavior, which saves us a lot of resources, since we don't have to physically count the number of customers at the door. In addition, we can provide you with important information at the entrance using the monitors. We are very happy with our cooperation. It seems that there are many innovative solutions that we would be more than happy to try, as we believe this will benefit us to be smarter and more efficient in many aspects," said Sanne Brigsted, Business Development Manager at the Food Hall.
Proceeds
the solution has helped the restaurant successfully achieve its core task of reopening its food hall by allowing an operator to monitor customer traffic in real time so that timely safety measures can be taken before the venue fills up with customers. With this smart system, no additional employees are needed to count customers manually at the door, which can significantly reduce labor costs and improve the efficiency of restaurant management.
In addition, your monitor can serve as an ad space to inform customers or as a multipurpose advertising display with marketing and event planning based on the intelligent data analysis of the DSS Pro, providing a platform with enormous potential for expansion and creating business opportunities for the restaurant.
Specific solutions and products may vary based on different regulations and measures for COVID-19 in each country.
Solutions for people counting, temperature measurement, and access control and attendance are also available in Mexico, and will help companies transition to the new normal, with flexible and easy-to-use solutions, while ensuring safety and trust with their customers.
Sánchez Xía, CEO of Dahua Mexico, commented that flow control and people counting solutions are technologies of great relevance to help in the safe reopening of businesses. Cases like Arkaden Food Hall can be successfully replicated anywhere in the country.
