Genetec
Genetec announced that it is partnering with Cylance, a business unit of BlackBerry, Limited to include AI-based CylancePROTECT antivirus in its device portfolio, thus offering additional cybersecurity protection to Streamvault infrastructure solutions, immediately and at no additional cost.
This antivirus protects endpoints and organizations by combining the power of artificial intelligence to block malware infections with additional security controls that protect against script-based attacks, fileless memory, and external devices.
It should be noted that it uses machine learning, not signatures, to identify and block known and unknown malware from running on endpoints. The software offers prevention against common and unknown threats (zero day) without an Internet connection.
Because it uses very little computing power, CylancePROTECT will not affect the smooth functioning of Genetec devices, allowing customers to benefit from proactive threat detection without monopolizing crucial resources.
All-in-one devices, storage, and workstations (Genetec Streamvault) are expected to ship pre-installed and optimized with CylancePROTECT by September 2019.
