Latin America. Axis Communications, a video surveillance, access control and IP audio solutions company, announced that during the months of July, August and September its net sales totaled, in Swedish krona, SEK 2,695 M (US$2,253 M), representing an increase of 20%.
In the Americas, a region that includes Colombia, growth was even more important; net sales totaled SEK 1,518 M (US$1,190 M) during the same period, corresponding to 28% growth. This was the company's best result relative to other regions.
For axis Communications President Ray Mauritsson, the third quarter showed good growth compared to the same period last year and revealed that an important factor was the continuity of a strong presence in the global market. "Our growth was a reflection of the number of employees, which now stands at over 3,100. We grew up in our offices around the world and, as we have previously reported, this year we opened a software development office in Linköping, Sweden," he says.
This period was also marked by Axis' innovation and development work, as was the launch of the AXIS P3717-PLE panoramic camera with infrared. The camera was awarded at the Intersec Awards in Dubai, in the category "Video Surveillance", and also as "Best New Product in Security 2018", in Melbourne.
Also in this period, Axis participated in Bogotá in the International Fair of Security E + S + S, where it presented for the first time to the Colombian market the IP radar. This new technology for detecting invaders has a range of 2500 square meters and allows to considerably reduce false alarms.
