International. Wisenet T Series stainless steel and explosion-proof cameras customized for industrial facilities provide preventative protection not only for facility assets, but also for employees and the nearby community.
Hanwha Techwin is playing an important role in ensuring a safe working environment for Hanwha Chemical, South Korea's leading petrochemical company. Hanwha Techwin's network cameras, the industrial surveillance line "Wisenet T", have been installed at the production site of Hanwha Chemical Ulsan 1 (hereinafter referred to as "Hanwha Chemical").
Established in 1965, Hanwha Chemical has been offering basic petrochemicals, which lay the foundation for a wide range of industries. With more than 2,400 employees, the global leader in the chemical industry has extensive overseas operations, including China, Thailand and India, as well as in Korea, Ulsan, Yeosu and Daejeon.
Hanwha Chemical takes the utmost care against potential industrial incidents, such as fires, explosions or leaks of toxic chemicals. Therefore, the Explosion Proof Chambers and Stainless Steel Chambers of the Wisenet T Series, a line of solutions adapted for industrial facilities, have been selected to ensure the safety of employees and the nearby community, in addition to protecting assets within the facilities.
Explosion-proof chambers (TNU-6320E) were installed both inside and outside the facility, including peripheries, laboratories and chemical warehouses. These chambers house SUS316L stainless steel housings that prevent explosions caused by internal or external factors, ensuring safe operations in chemical and industrial facilities. Further proof of their high safety is that they have been certified with ATEX II, a European certification of explosion-proof products. In addition, the built-in cleaner automatically removes snow, rain, dust or dirt from the lens for clean and clear monitoring.
Stainless steel chambers (XNP-6320HS) were also installed at that site that does not handle any explosive material, but requires high-duration cameras due to chemical resources. Manufactured with a stainless steel housing that is strong and highly resistant to corrosion and acid, provide superior protection against corrosive chemicals and are optimized for monitoring industrial facilities.
In addition, the cameras are waterproof and vandal-proof, and are IP67, IP66, NEMA4X and IK10 certified, offering stable operation, even at extremely low or high temperatures. Their design also allows for easy cleaning and maintenance, making them ideal for places that require strict hygiene standards, such as chemical plants, medical or food manufacturing facilities.
A source from Hanwha Chemical said: "We fully trust Hanwha Techwin's cameras as they have obtained rigorous European certifications for explosion-free cameras." He added: "We are also very pleased with the remote monitoring feature, which enables real-time surveillance of all corners of our premises."
A hanwha Techwin source said: "24-hour safety monitoring is a necessity in industrial facilities. Since even a minor accident can turn into a major disaster, real-time surveillance across facilities and early response are crucial. Above all, safety systems for safety monitoring should not cause fire or collateral damage, which makes the explosion-free chamber the optimal product in this regard."
"We strive to develop several products whose performances are optimized for each solution and that can be used effectively not only for safety monitoring in industrial facilities, but also for safety throughout our environment," he said.
