Latin America. In a video system it is essential to ensure that all devices are synchronized with the same valid time of the system server, as recordings, troubleshooting and admissibility of evidence videos can be affected by incorrect time synchronization.

Servers
The Administration Server of the Bosch video Management System, BVMS must be properly adjusted and, if applicable, synchronized to a valid time source before installation or configuration. In addition, mobile video service, video streaming gateway, video recording manager, and video workstations also need to be synchronized. If the site does not have a centralized source of time, the BVMS Administration Server can be used as a central source for all devices.
When initially configuring a server's time:
1. Manually set the correct time zone and time in the settings.
2. If applicable, make sure that 'Daylight Saving Time' is activated. If you are configuring BVMS Administration Server to synchronize to a central source:
- Select the date and time in the control panel.
- Select Change Settings.
- Enter the address of the central time source.
Note: If you synchronize after installing the software, you will need to restart the server or restart the services.
Devices
By default, all Bosch video devices are synchronized with the BVMS Central Server once added to the system. This includes cameras, encoders and set-top boxes. Time synchronization is performed using SNTP.
Video devices with the latest firmware version can also use certificates for time synchronization using the TLS date feature.
If you configure the BVMS Administration Server to synchronize with a central source, ensure that the appliance is synchronized with the BVMS System before you start the recording process. Time synchronization is not possible if a device is recording.
