Latin America. HID Global recently announced that the list of the year's top web technologies, underpinned by independent research conducted by technology research firm W3Techs, highlighted IdenTrus as the fastest growing digital certification authority in the world.
IdenTrust has issued more than 33% of SSL certificates worldwide and protects 15.2% of all existing websites. IdenTrust's digital certificates provide critical security services to protect people and things IDs, and enable real-time validation of Internet traffic on a scalable software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform.
"The recognition of IdenTrust as the fastest growing certificate authority by an independent company validates our strategy of combining IdenTrust into our IAMS (Identity and Access Management Solutions) identification platform, as well as the value of our digital certificates," said Brad Jarvis, vice president and managing director of HID Global's Identity and Access Management Solutions (IAMS) division. "By reliably and agilely handling this accelerated growth, we have demonstrated our platform's ability to adapt to the requirements of the industry's most complex environments, for example, to protect the Internet of Things on billions of connections."
The continued rapid expansion of mobile technology as well as the rise of the Internet of Things (IoT) will drive greater adoption of digital certificates. IdenTrust is helping to create a trusted environment that will turn IoT into IoTT, i.e. the trusted internet of things, and incorporate a digital certificate into every mobile device that does not currently have this higher level of reliability.
HID's IdenTrust digital certificates are recognized by government entities, international financial institutions, and corporations around the world. IdenTrust products enable organizations to effectively manage the risks involved in identifying IDs, work interoperably with countries around the world, minimize investment in creating their own policies and legal frameworks, and ensure reliability in the identity of a person or thing.
W3Techs conducted its study over the course of last year and kicked off 2018 with its leaderboard of the most prominent web technologies.
