Latin America. Milestone Systems, the open platform company in IP video management software (VMS), released its Device Pack 9.5 for the benefit of partners and customers of Milestone XProtect video solutions.
These packages, which are released every two months, contain software updates for the XProtect VMS to support the new equipment. In 2017, Milestone added support for more than 1,100 new devices.
These updates are always a priority at Milestone. Supporting the widest possible range of devices is an unwavering foundation of Milestone's open platform promise to its community of partners and users.
Let the world see it... in the light of the stars
Members of the Milestone community can now benefit from canon ME20F network camera support. This camera can produce full HD video, with no need for more illumination than starlight on a moonless night. The sensor has a sensitivity of 4,000,000 ISO – 4,000 times more sensitive than a smartphone camera.
The NE20F is the same size as the sensors of professional digital cameras for cinema, and can use the entire range of optics for Canon professional cameras, from super wide angle to long-distance telephoto lenses.
This makes it ideal for use in solutions where additional lighting is not an option, such as in the observation of species at risk in natural parks.
ONVIF Support Certification Profile G. Simplifies the use of storage on the device
ONVIF's G Profile was created to further refine the interoperability between live video and video storage. It covers devices such as cameras, encoders, and networked video recorders (NVRs), as well as client systems such as video management systems, building management systems, and information management systems for physical security (PSIM).
The G profile also includes support for receiving audio streams and metadata, if the client supports those features. With certified G Profile support at XProtect, Milestone partners now have greater possibilities for designing solutions with body-worn cameras, in-vehicle embedded cameras, or cameras in bandwidth-constrained environments.
Other highlights
Milestone has expanded its support for video compression in H.265, using the capability of truly open platform technology to rapidly implement equipment acceleration. Using this efficient video compression technology can reduce bandwidth needs, save storage space, and enable wider deployment of cameras over 4K networks. The new addition of H.265 cameras supported by Milestone is the new AXIS M2026-LE Mk II.
