International. From Europe to Asia in 15 minutes: Bosch helps keep the new Eurasia Tunnel safe and secure for smooth traffic.
Eurasia tunnel drivers will travel safer thanks to Bosch's video surveillance, fire detection and access control systems.
The Flexidome IP 7000 VR cameras will be able to operate in the construction despite the frequent earthquakes and floods characteristic of the area.
Times of long commuting are over, at least for many istanbul citizens. Thanks to the new Eurasia Tunnel, road time can be reduced from more than 110 minutes to less than 15, to almost 107 meters below sea level. The most advanced underwater tunnel, it connects the European part of Istanbul with its Asian part. Bosch plays a key role in the project by providing security and protection solutions such as video surveillance, fire detection and access control systems. All these systems will be managed by the Bosch Building Integration System (BIS), and are open to integration with third parties.
With an estimated 120,000 vehicles crossing the tunnel each day, "the safety of tunnel users is our number one priority in the operational phase," the operators say. This immense influx of cars is analyzed 24 hours a day by cameras with the Automatic Incident Detection System. The heart of incident detection is Bosch's video surveillance system that includes an intelligent set of network cameras to meet the multiple requirements of the facility.
The Flexidome IP 7000 VR, for example, is used in those areas where conditions can be harsher due to its excellent resistance to vandalism and inclement weather, as is the case of the Eurasia Tunnel located in an area of concentration of earthquakes and floods. In areas with low lighting, the DINION IP starlight 8000 MP fixed camera provides high-definition color images, in those conditions in which other cameras could only do so in monochrome.
