Latin America. Nutanix announced that its Enterprise Cloud Platform software has been certified to run Cloudera Enterprise workloads through the Cloudera Certified Technology Program.
Through this certification, joint customers can reduce handling complexity and generate more value by deploying and managing Cloudera workloads on the market-leading hyperconverged software platform. Now IT leaders can run multiple Big Data jobs in their own private cloud data center, thereby adding a new level of flexibility to their IT infrastructure without sacrificing the simplicity and scalability typically associated with public cloud services.
"CSC® is the world's leading provider of business, legal, tax and digital brand services to companies around the world. Partnering with Cloudera and Nutanix, CSC has successfully shaped the certification process of its architecture using the Big Data processing power of Cloudera CDH and Hadoop on the Nutanix platform," said Shawn Dutton, Director of Systems Engineering at CSC.
For big data deployments, choosing the right hardware and software is critical to success, but it's often a challenge for IT teams trying to balance ambitious corporate goals with smaller budgets and scarcer resources. Now joint customers can run Cloudera workloads on a locally installed software-based elastic infrastructure that can scale On-Demand, one node at a time. And because Cloudera workloads can run on the same shared infrastructure with other workloads, IT teams can reduce their costs and focus their attention on strategic projects, rather than handling multiple silos of underutilized infrastructure.
"Today's IT teams need to make sure their private cloud infrastructure provides them with the scalability and performance they need to be able to handle the latest generation of Mode 2 applications," said Philippe Marinier, vice president of business development at Cloudera. "Through nutanix Enterprise Cloud Platform certification, we empower our customers to basically make their infrastructure invisible, allowing them to focus on extracting value from their valuable business data using Cloudera Enterprise."
"Enterprises are now rejecting infrastructure options that do not provide cloud-like operating models, and that are unable to support all workloads, including the most demanding big data services," said Venugopal Pai, vice president of alliances and business development at Nutanix. "By implementing advanced cloud-like infrastructure to run Big Data projects on Cloudera, Nutanix and Cloudera's joint customers can transform from traditional analytics and infrastructure environments into a modern application environment for Big Data, distributed over an enterprise cloud network (all through a barely visible architecture)."
