Colombia. The Spanish multinational A3SEC helps companies in the financial sector to anticipate certain fraudulent actions and cyberattacks through the Digital Surveillance Center.
Google's premise from the beginning has been "no data is deleted" Why? For the simple reason that this company understands the value of information and because it is clear that at some point any of this data may be necessary or exploited. In Latin America, 1.6 terabytes of information are moved per day and a large percentage corresponds to the financial sector.
In this sector, many of the data repositories or datalakes are focused on identifying possible risks in companies. Among the most common actions are blocking a transaction that may be fraudulent, notifying certain people so that a transaction is authorized, entering an investigation process for detecting an anomaly, sending an alert or the risk-oriented report.
Information has a life cycle and it is important to preserve historical data to predict what may have happened before or anticipate what may happen, also real-time data are equally important considering that they allow you to react at the right time. That is why having a Digital Security and Surveillance Center not only provides the opportunity to have an infrastructure with all the unified information but also the qualified and experienced personnel that can react to anomalies at the right time.
"Currently, organizations, not only in the financial sector, are aware of the advantages of having an infrastructure and a good and timely management of data. They have learned the risks they can go through, not only in matters related to fraud, but also in aspects such as operation and business, which having a bad management can affect the reputation of the company and customer service." – says Javier Díaz, VP of las Americas.
The development of new technologies has given way to a wider field of action for fraud to occur. There is greater access of people in different geographical points; now companies must not only worry about the protection of internal and physical elements within the organization, but also take into account the variable of technology and the increase in attack points. Frauds are becoming more and more specialized, difficult to understand and to tackle; that is why it is important to centralize data within an organization from a Digital Security and Surveillance Center that allows anticipating and benefiting the financial sector in its business.
