Colombia. From August 16 to 18 in Corferias, the International Security Fair will be held. This fairground has been the space chosen by Axis Communications, a leading company in the network video market, to demonstrate for the first time in South America the AXIS Q1659 camera, which makes a combination between Canon professional photography and Axis professional video surveillance.
With an ultra-high resolution of up to 20 megapixels, the camera combines all the ease of use of Axis cameras with Canon DSLR imaging technology across seven lens options. The result of this combination is an image that allows objects to be observed at a long distance over wide areas, with an unprecedented level of detail, vivid colors and high contrast, even in the dark.
"This camera has been created to obtain incredible images even when at great distances. It is perfect, for example, to visualize fans in the stands of a stadium, the license plate of vehicles that are far away on the public road, or to recognize suspects at the opposite end of the airport lounge. The aperture of the lens can reach 200 millimeters, for a digital zoom with much greater range, without loss of quality, "says Leonardo Cossio, Axis Sales Engineer for South America – Northern Cone.
Another benefit of the equipment is that it has Zipstream technology, which reduces bandwidth and storage needs by 50 percent on average, without compromising image quality. It is also equipped with an optional SFP slot for fiber optic connection, which means it has network redundancy and the flexibility to connect over long distances.
Finally, it manages to add video analytics applications from Axis and its partners to meet a wide range of advanced requirements.
Axis Communications' participation in the International Security Fair confirms the company's interest in continuing to accompany its partners, which currently number 5,046 in South America, and its commitment to the development of the local market.
