Colombia. The International ICT Congress (Andicom), which will take place from August 31 to September 2 at the Cartagena Convention Center, will present for the first time new opportunities for system integration through the network, including digital access control devices powered by PoE.
Integrator AP Engineering will unveil a double-checked access control solution: first, the user uses AXIS A4011-E, contactless and keyboard reader, either using their card or pressing the code on the keyboard. Step by step, AXIS F41 modular camera captures the user's face and contrasts it with a database. If the images correspond, the system opens the door through the first IP access controller based on open and non-proprietary protocols, AXIS A1001.
The facial recognition camera and access control devices will be integrated into Axis partner Milestone's Xprotect Corporate Video Management Software (VMS). The software has the Xprotect Transact module, specific to track and trace actions in spaces such as stores, warehouses or logistics centers. That allows the user to do all the management of their products by video, tracking them from the moment they enter the inventory until their exit, through a cross between the barcode of the product and its corresponding video.
"It is of vital importance that the technology sector knows all the integration capabilities that can currently be achieved from video, which today is not only used for security purposes, but also when requiring inventory management, as a support to the access control system," says Alessandra Faria, director of Axis Communications for South America.
