Latin America. Bosch Safety Systems presents Aviotec, a new solution for reliable and early detection of fires in challenging environments.
Built based on the technology of Bosch cameras and Intelligent Video Analysis (VAT), which through its state-of-the-art technology allows an early detection of fires, smoke and flames in places such as buildings with high ceilings or areas with high pollution and humidity where it is difficult to offer satisfactory reaction times. AVIOTEC can even be used in environments where there was no solution before, for example sawmills or paper mills, hangars or huge monitoring areas.
Using intelligent algorithms in video surveillance cameras, AVIOTEC is able to identify smoke and flames as soon as they are distinguished within the camera's field of view, without having to wait for smoke to reach the detectors. By detecting fires from the initial source and not on the roof, cameras can emit an alarm in a matter of seconds while detectors can take minutes to detect it. AVIOTEC relies on intelligent algorithms to distinguish between real fires and other conditions caused by reflections, movements or backlights. This ensures reliable detection without false alarms. AVIOTEC offers reliable pre-fire-tested detection (TF1 to TF8) as specified in en54.
The AVIOTEC Video-Based Fire Detection System allows you to scale from a single camera to a network system of distributed cameras with a single console and central management. Using Bosch dynamic transcoding technology, alarms can be relayed to an existing fire alarm panel or transmitted via Ethernet to a control center, or even to a mobile device such as an iPad. Receiving high-quality video footage in real time allows firefighters to understand the situation even before they arrive at the scene.
The cameras are very easy to install and require little maintenance compared to smoke and fire detectors. With the use of PoE (Power over Ethernet) cameras, individual power supplies and cables are not necessary, which makes AVIOTEC a more cost-effective solution. AVIOTEC can also be used in small and distributed applications such as electrical rooms and charging plants, where the benefit does not justify the installation of fire stations.
