International. Axis Communications bought the company 2N, number 1 in the digital intercom sector, which also participates in the IP audio and IP intercom market for elevators.
The company has a consolidated resale network that includes electrical and telecommunications installers. This network can serve as a complement to the global Axis integrators. In turn, 2N will benefit from Axis' positioning in the IP video market, as well as its resources in research and development.
According to Peter Lindström, Vice President of New Business at Axis Communications, "The acquisition reaffirms our mission to contribute to a safer and smarter world. Customers have shown a growing demand for integrated solutions with open standards that increase security levels. Together with 2N, we can meet this demand."
The 2N brand will remain, and the company will operate as a subsidiary of the Axis group. Joint operations involve the exchange of knowledge in Research and Development and access to new markets. One of the common goals is to accelerate the convergence of analog systems towards IP intercom and create new opportunities in the digital world.
"We intend to develop both Axis and 2N. The market is growing, and with this purchase we continue to drive the market migration," concludes Lindström.
