Colombia. APC by Schneider Electric introduces a new line of Smart-UPS models for use in server rooms and network closets. A solution that responds to the growing need to ensure the availability of network equipment and critical information by optimizing resources.
"In these challenging times, users need exceptionally high efficiency to optimize IT assets and reduce operating costs. In addition, they require advanced monitoring and diagnostic capabilities to prepare and react in real time," said Dave Johnson, Senior Vice President of Data Center Solutions at Schneider Electric. "APC's new Smart-UPS models offer IT and facility managers the highest efficiency, manageability and reliability that today's systems demand. These advanced models will once again raise the bar for server-class UPS systems," he adds.
The new SMX line of interactive-type uninterrupted power supply (UPS) systems is designed to the same standards as the award-winning Smart-UPS family. It offers user-friendly features such as functions to monitor, diagnose and control energy use, providing clear and timely consumption metrics. The new models feature an intuitive, customizable LCD display that offers local and remote configuration capabilities, accurate power status information and diagnostics, as well as tests and activity logs. The information is clear and concise, showing everything including the product serial number for support information in several languages.
Each model includes a 'green' mode that can achieve efficiencies of over 97%, for utilitarian and cooling savings. This technology makes an automatic bypass of unused components allowing a reduced energy consumption without sacrificing the protection or operation of the system. In addition, the units have built-in meters and controlled socket groups that can be programmed to standalone off or on. In case of a failure in the power supply this allows to turn off loads that are less critical, increasing the autonomy time for the most critical equipment.
The 120V Smart-UPS family has models available in standard or convertible format for easy rack or tower installation. Additionally, APC Smart-UPS are the only units that offer advanced power management to notify users of the recommended date to replace the battery. The 2200 and 3000VA extended range models also allow you to add up to five external battery packs to scale the autonomy time from minutes to hours.
APC's new SmartUPS models include a three-year physical warranty and a two-year warranty on batteries, with extension options. They include PowerChute® management software that offers IT administrators the convenience and convenience of remote monitoring, secure system shutdown control, and advanced UPS management. Management can be extended through SmartSlot, an internal slot that allows the installation of optional accessories to improve performance. All APC Smart-UPS models are certified for use within the InfraStruXure® architecture and are compatible with a variety of operating systems and network management platforms.
