International. The unveiling of the new network VCRs comes on the heels of the launch of Samsung Techwin's WiseNet Lite camera range. The combination of the new cameras and the new video recorders offers system designers a wide range of options that fit all types of budgets and functionality requirements in video surveillance projects.
4-, 8- and 16-channel network video recorders significantly reduce installation costs as there is no need for individual power supplies and switches. Thanks to the built-in PoE+ functionality, the three new NVRs offer enough power for any ONVIF-compliant PoE+ camera, including outdoor PTZ domes.
"Our new network video recorders with integrated PoE+ switches securely power cameras and other devices using standard Ethernet data cables, with the added benefit that PoE can be used anywhere without the need to consider potential variations in local supply standards," says Tim Biddulph. Product Manager for Samsung Techwin Europe, Ltd. "But the main benefit of using Power over Ethernet is that IP network-based systems can be extended at any time without cutting the power supply and without the need to install more cables."
The three new NVRs are compatible with 8-megapixel cameras and therefore record images of the highest quality, such as the images captured by 4K cameras.
The new network video recorders allow you to optimize costs at an affordable price. They are equipped with a long list of practical and intuitive benefits including an on-screen graphical user interface, very easy to use and available in multiple languages. In addition, they can be configured and controlled locally by simply connecting a mouse or joystick controller. Therefore, Samsung Techwin cameras can be easily configured through the interface of the video recorders without the need for a computer.
Operators can choose between two types of output for network video recorders: HDMI or VGA. All three models are compatible with H.264 and MJPEG compression methods and allow multiple streams of data to be played at different resolutions on smartphones and tablets, and also on any computer on the network. Thanks to the help of the Smart Search service, which allows you to use search criteria by metadata, it is possible to retrieve the video of any incident easily.
The three new models are:
SRN-473S: 4-channel NVR with 4 PoE+ ports, recording at 32 Mb/s bandwidth, an internal hard drive and e-SATA support.
SRN-873S: 8-channel NVR with 8 PoE+ ports, recording at 64 Mb/s bandwidth, up to two internal hard drives, and e-SATA support.
SRN-1673S: 16-channel NVR with 16 PoE+ ports, recording at 80 Mb/s bandwidth, up to four internal hard drives, and e-SATA support.
