Latin America. Axis Communications developed a video surveillance camera with three 4K sensors that, together, offer a 180° panoramic view of a wide area with a high level of detail. This multi-sensor and multi-megapixel launch was designed for the surveillance of cities, logistics centers, airports, stadiums and train stations.
AXIS Q3709-PVE offers three times the 4K resolution at 30 frames per second, and 33 megapixels (3 x 11MP) at 20 frames per second. Installed at an intersection, for example, the camera shows with depth of field both the avenue at the front and the two sides of the street it crosses.
"The combination of the three 4K sensors makes it possible to monitor large areas of high traffic with a high level of detail to ensure complete control of the situation," said Sergio Fukushima, technical manager of Axis. "Last year we launched a 4K video surveillance camera at 30 frames per second with a 109-degree viewing angle. Now we have a model with three times that resolution, with an angle of 180 degrees."
The new camera, made for outdoor or indoor use and resistant to acts of vandalism, comes with already adjusted focus in its manufacture, which covers the entire image from three meters away. This eliminates the need to manually adjust the focus and simplifies installation. In addition, a single cable is needed for data transfer and power (PoE+).
This model is supported by the industry's largest base of video management software through the Axis and AXIS Camera Station Application Developer Partner Program. The camera includes support for AXIS Camera Companion, AXIS Video Camera Application Platform and ONVIF for easy system integration. App developers can also equip the camera with other smart features.
