Latin America. The Latin American Security Association (ALAS), within the framework of the E+S+S fair that was held in Bogotá, Colombia from October 9 to 11, announced gustavo Gassmann, HID Global's Sales Director for Brazil, as its new president.
Gassmann's inauguration as the new president took place on October 9 at the corporate partners' dinner, which was attended by nearly 90 directors.
Gustavo Gassmann has more than 10 years of experience leading and managing regional sales groups in Brazil and Latin America, and has worked since 2005 at HID Global.
For a period of two years, from October 2013 to the same month of 2015, Gassmann will be the legal representative of the institution and will have as functions the coordination of the different working groups and the management of the resources of ALAS, an international non-profit organization based in Miami and offices in Colombia, Brazil and Mexico.
One of the objectives that Gassmann has set for his two years of presidency is to increase the presence of WINGS in Brazil, Chile and Argentina due to the importance of these countries in the Latin American context.
"ALAS has a very strong presence in Central America and the Caribbean, and we consider it essential to have this same relevance in the south of the continent. WINGS is promoting a chapter in Brazil, which will give us greater visibility in the market and consequently help this development," he says.
For the President of ALAS, the Association is a meeting space in which industry leaders talk about different topics such as technology and good market practices.
It is also an important source of information for end users, especially for governments and corporations, as they approach the Association to have an impartial opinion of the technology, since they will not receive a response from a manufacturer alone, but the response will be from the industry as a whole.
"WINGS has the responsibility, and at the same time the role, to support the technological development of its associates and also of the industry as a whole," says Gassmann.
"I am very honored by this appointment as President of ALAS International; it is a commitment and a great responsibility. I look forward to meeting the expectations and trust that has been placed in me and the new executive committee. The objective on this occasion will be the growth of the organization and its efficiency in management, an objective that will be guided by dynamism. I am convinced that the group chosen to support this Presidency will be crucial for the good results of this administration, we have people with great experience and who are supported by large companies", concludes the new president.
