International. Milestone received the distinction as Technology Partner of the Year from Arecont Vision, version 2012. The award seeks to recognize the strength of collaborative efforts between companies in the growing market for IP video surveillance solutions with network megapixel cameras.
The increasing acceptance of networked megapixel video cameras is corroborated by market analysts. IHS Inc. estimates that the megapixel camera market will experience growth rates ranging from 35 to 40% over the next two years, and by 2017, 94% of all video camera sales will be megapixel cameras.
"Milestone Systems is a critical technology partner of Arecont Vision worldwide, working proactively with us on all aspects of the business, technology, marketing, sales, implementation and support," said Jason Schimpf, director of sales operations and corporate relations at Arecont Vision. "The joint activities of our field sales organizations are supported by application engineers who cooperate effectively. Also in the field of executive management, the strategic alliance stands out. Working together, more and more opportunities are being achieved, thanks to the explosion of the Asia Pacific and Middle East sales funnel that took place over the past year," he added.
Some of the world's biggest brands are using Milestone and Arecont Vision at their facility to help them protect their assets and people. "Five of the top ten companies on the Forbes list are are customers of Arecont Vision and most of those projects are shared with Milestone. Some of the most important joint projects include large retail chains, university campuses, government properties, police and law enforcement, and exhibition centers," Schimpf added.
Milestone has long supported Arecont Vision's megapixel cameras and over the years has reprogrammed the latest and most improved versions of device drivers. At the end of 2011, a new version was released that employs the latest firmware version of Arecont Vision.
"Since that time, no integration issues have been reported with our joint technology," Schimpf says. "We're talking about solid integrations that work, especially with our latest products. Milestone's support for Arecont Vision devices takes advantage of our future release compatibility feature. And because Arecont Vision cameras share a unified alarm panel interface (API), many of our new releases are self-installing with the existing Milestone controller, even before Milestone certifies them."
Arecont Vision is a Milestone Allied Manufacturer (MAP), which means that Milestone's Research and Development (R&D) department develops and verifies specific support for drivers, in addition, Device Packages are released on a regular basis for customers of XProtect® IP video management software.
"Megapixel technology significantly drives market acceptance of networkED IP solutions for video surveillance," said Christian Bohn, vice president of marketing and strategic alliances at Milestone. "We are very grateful for the recognition of Arecont Vision's Global Technology Partner of the Year and in the Asia Pacific and Middle East regions. It is a recognition of our strong collaboration with Arecont Vision."
