Latin America. The new version of Samsung Techwin's SmartViewer centralized management software is compatible with Samsung's network and IP video surveillance devices, as well as its analog cameras, domes and digital video recorders.
SmartViewer V4.0 is designed for video surveillance systems of up to 36 cameras and allows any authorized user with Internet access to view live videos or recorded by the cameras connected through a Samsung DVR or NVR.
Users can choose to display images simultaneously from up to 16 cameras in different mosaic modes and save their "favorite" settings for future use.
One of the most important features of SmartViewer V4.0 is the device manager that automatically searches for IP cameras, encoders and connected NVRs, and that allows you to import and export device configurations. It also makes it easy to update the device's firmware remotely and thus saves time and money as there is no need for an operator to travel to the camera installation site. Other very intuitive features included in the software are drag & drop camera selection, support for H.264, MPEG-4 and MJPEG, a real-time event list and menu in 24 languages.
"Our customers will see that SmartViewer V4.0 is very easy to use," says Peter Ainsworth, Senior Product Manager at Samsung Techwin Europe Ltd. "Our software engineers have given it a look and feel that, in many ways, is a simplified version of our SSM (Samsung Security Manager) software and that, as confirmed by our customers' feedback, is helping users around the world get the most out of their video surveillance systems."
