Latin America. American Dynamics, a unit of Tyco's Security Products, announced its new line of Discover analog cameras. From the economical 300 series, for low-budget customers, to the high-performance 500 and 700 series, which employ Sony's Effio technology and PIXIM's Seawolf to deliver true day/night vision.
All these cameras are ideal for a wide range of indoor and outdoor applications. This complete line of analog cameras, composed of mini domes for indoors and outdoors (vandal-proof), bullet and box models, meets the diverse needs of customers.
The Discover 300 series cameras offer an attractive price-performance ratio, offering better resolution images and accurate color rendering without the need for high security budgets. The sensitivity in low light conditions allows to provide sharp images with illumination of just 0.5 lux. Digital signal processing (DSP), coupled with a resolution of 600 TVL, allows images to be delivered with a clarity that is usually characteristic of more expensive models.
The Discover 500 series cameras, powered by Sony's Effio technology, offer a horizontal resolution of over 700TVL, which captures more natural high-definition video to transmit clearer, more realistic images. These cameras provide a full range of true-color images with greater sensitivity in less than ideal light conditions, compared to conventional CCTV cameras. Mini domes and bullet cameras offer IR illuminators that allow them to work in scenes with less than 0.5 lux, even in complete darkness.
The Discover 700 series cameras take advantage of PIXIM's Seawolf technology, the industry's highest resolution (690 HTVL-E), the best wide dynamic range and the best low light performance of any analog technology on the market. These cameras provide extremely accurate images, both day and night, in difficult lighting conditions. Capturing true colors with well-defined contrasts in dimly lit or dark environments helps prevent color dimming, which is common in analog cameras with CCD sensors. On the other hand, these cameras work well in any type of light condition, indoors or in bright conditions, eliminating glare in the brightest light. Mini domes and bullet cameras offer IR illuminators for operation in scenes of less than 0.5 lux.
"Although the growth of IP video surveillance cameras is increasing, what we are looking for is to maintain the leadership that has characterized us in what remains a huge global market," said Steve Carney, director of product management at American Dynamics. "American Dynamics has always been considered a global leader in analog video surveillance cameras and while we expanded our IP offerings, we continuously improved and strengthened our line of analog cameras to keep up with the current demand for analog technology," he added.
